It’s dope because it’s just a slice of life. black life? that’s the point: just life. like, black folks live regular lives too. ~John Murillo on Dirty Dishes: A Clean Love Story
So they say it’s never too early to toot your own horn. That aint really my style but i’d like to think we got something good going on here at HollaBLACK. I love what my brother had to say about the film. You know its not that we spent years investing in the best equipment or in school learning cutting edge film techniques. We are not working with million dollar budgets. We are learning along the way. None of this makes a difference.
It’s simple really, we love Black people, doing our thang, and living life. A life that is not at all regular. Lives that are overly commodified and simultaneously disavowed, disagree check out amari’s latest blog post. We are aiming to show all the beauty, pain, and laughter in it all. So stay tuned we got some real good stuff coming up but first we may have to complete our first actual paying assignment. YES!! Didn’t you know we are making thangs happen.
